1. Hydration From The Inside Out

Ensure that you’re drinking 0.035litres of water for every kg of body weight. For example, if you weigh 50kg, 50 x 0.035 = 1.75 litres of water a day. Increase the amount of water if you are exercising or work outdoors.

 

 

2. Moisturise Moisturise Moisturise

If you have dry skin and work in an air-conditioned environment, use a heavier cream during the day to create a barrier that prevents water loss via your skin. For people with oily skin, try a water based moisturiser that’s non-comedogenic to prevent clogged pores.

 

 

3. Put Down The Rough Scrubs

Instead of physical exfoliation with beads or rushed seeds, try chemical exfoliation with a mild AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) or BHA (beta hydroxy acid) product.

 

 

4. Sunscreen

It’s either rain or sunshine here so make sunscreen a staple in your skincare regimen. Sunscreen prevents premature wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and most importantly, lowers your risk of skin cancer.

 

 

5. Hide Behind A Mask

Hot weather and sitting in air-conditioning for a whole day can dehydrate your skin, causing fine lines. Grab a moisturising or soothing sheet mask, stick it in the fridge and slap it on at the end of your day to give your skin a boost in hydration.
